The work of Jason Ransom revolves around the idea of the application of paint based upon the subjective and unconscious expression of the artist and the subject. Lines that are broken, violent and wild, paint applied with vigorous and heavy impasto - these gestures are avenues in which he tries to communicate the inner essence and energy between the artist and the subject. Scraping off layers of paint is part of his creative process, and what I used as inspiration for his personal website.
